PEVO Introduction
PEVO is a non-for-profit organization which conducts its operations without consideration to gender, ethnicity, religion, language and regional discrimination and provides humanitarian services in Afghanistan. PEVO was established in 2009 and is registered with the Ministry of Economy under registration No. 1445. PEVO provides humanitarian services in areas like supporting women, children, disabled, war affected, vulnerable individuals’ rights, human rights, education, anti-corruption, vocational training, employment generation, agriculture and livestock, environment preservation, wildlife preservation, health services, food security and other humanitarian and social areas.
Organization’s board of management is formed by a set of well educated women and it retains 150 women volunteers to offer sound social and humanitarian services and meet utmost standards for women empowerment.
PEVO’s activities are carried by considering global humanitarian laws, strategies, policies and other enforced global laws
PEVO is registered and maintains membership of the following national and international entities:
- United Nations Development Program under GEF/SGP
- Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
- Food Security and Agriculture Cluster (FSAC)
- Common Humanitarian Fund (CHF)
- Ministry of Women Affairs
- Afghanistan Civil Society
PEVO has made its utmost efforts to provide humanitarian services which are mostly provided by the own fund of the organization and financial assistance of the organization’s CEO.
In spite of current financial and security challenges and other social restrictions, PEVO tries to extend and continue its operations and is in search of finding donor agencies to implement its humanitarian activities in the country.
